How can a lactation consultant help?

As a lactation consultant my speciality is supporting you to fed your baby.

Things I can support you with included

​

              •antenatal education 

​              •milk supply issues and worries, be this not enough or too much

              •pain management 

              •not latching

              •establishing breastfeeding

              •refusing bottles

              •restarting breastfeeding after a gap

              •starting lactation without giving birth

              •weaning support

and so much more.......

What happens at a breastfeeding / lactation consult?

Before we meet

  • take a few random video's of your feeds

  • fill out the intake and background forms I will send you when you book

​

During the consultation

  • tell me what's going on

  • tell me what your goals are -where you want to be next week and next month.

  • Breastfeeding / nursing assessment.

  • if needed,  your baby needs an oral assessment or feeding plan 

  • feeding in as many room as you wish

  • work together to get you on your way to where you'd like to be

​

After the consult

  • WhatApp on going support

  • links and further reading

  • consultation summary sent via email

​

Do not worry about being in your pjs, a messy house or pets and siblings, although it maybe useful to have an extra pair of hands to take care of them, and  to be an extra pair of ears.

Investment

2 hours at your home, ongoing plan and unlimited support via WhatsApp  

£100, 

*travelling is not included at 40p per mile

A  hand demonstrating hand compression, similar to one used by Karen Williams in breastfeeding support and prenatal education
